Where have we been?
So I've noticed that I have only been posting about once every 3 months. I have a determination to change that. A friend of mine uses her blog regularly and then she does what's called "a blurb," (Not sure if I'm using that word correctly :)) The Blurb pulls all her entries on her blog and puts them into a book. She has one book for each year. My goal: to use my blog from here on out as a journal, then at the end of each year, blurb my entries to create a book. We will have our own Rust journals!! Exciting huh?

After x-rays and a couple hours, they finally diagnosed it as pneumonia/bronchial bacteria. They admitted him and we ended up staying at the hospital for 2 nights and 3 days. The first night he didn't seem to improve much even after a bit of medication so they put him on oxygen for safe measures during the night. This just broke my heart!! I think it was harder for me than for him.

At least he seemed at peace when he slept.
We were finally able to go home on the 3rd day. What a long 3 days. The doctors sent us home with breathing treatments and steroids to continue throughout the week. After our week check up he was back to full health. They had mentioned that since there is asthma in the genes, that may have been why he reacted to the cold as he did. Poor guy. He was a trooper though and hung on till the end.
So..let's recap on what's been happening in our lives:
August 2010
I turned 30. Can you believe it? I just have to say I have wonderful friends and husband! I woke up and found a card with a coupon on it to go get a pedicure with a friend. That put a smile on my face immediately! Then when I went downstairs to open the blinds - this is what I saw:
What creative friends I have! Brian later surprised (kindof) me with a party that evening with friends.
September 2010
I started a weightloss challenge. I know I know, many of you are thinking what weight did she have to lose?! However, we all have been in that point in our lives where we just can't lose those last 10 pounds of baby weight right? Well - I did it! And this is how....Herbalife. If you haven't heard of it and are looking to lose weight or even looking to eat a little more healthier - let me know. I had a shake (meal replacement) in the morning, another for lunch, and then a healthy meal for dinner. Sometimes I would drink one in the morning, have a turkey sandwich for lunch and then a shake for dinner. Regardless I had two a day to replace two of my meals. I would then eat a protein bar in between meals to tie me over. With exercising 2-3 times a week, I lost 11% body fat. I went from 140 to 126 in 12 weeks!! I have continued to drink the meal replacements, but just for breakfast. I have continued to lose weight and am now at 122. I've gone down 3 pant sizes!! Drinking one a day has helped me to maintain my weight and be healthy. I LOVE it! On top of all that - in the challenge - I won 3rd place for weight loss and received $83!
October
Halloween!! This year we dressed up as The Incredibles! We were so HOT! Just look at the picture - need I say more? And where did I get all the clothes? From a thrift store and Brian created our logo...I guess I should say, we were the RUSTibles. :)
November 2010
Jackson turned 3!! We had a Spiderman partay! Jackson had lots of fun and enjoyed his time with his friends. We played games, made spiders, ate spider cupcakes and opened presents. What more could a boy ask for?!

December 2010
This year flew by as I'm sure next year will do the same if not quicker. We had a great time staying home for Christmas again this year. There really is no greater feeling than celebrating in your own home with your own family.
February
Brian planned a Valentine's Dance for church. The theme was Hollywood Romance. Creative huh? Well, you were supposed to come as your favorite celebrity/tv star/couple- whatever. We couldn't really think of anyone that we could go as so...our friends came up with the idea of all going as Friends. It was puurfect! Here we are - don't we look fab? We had also spent a couple late nights practicing the dance moves from the song Le Freak on Dance Central, but....sorry readers - you're just not that lucky to see us dance!
March
This month was pretty eventful for us. Spring has finally come which means - - ALLERGIES. The kids were sick off an on all through March. Ear Infections, Colds, Itchy Eyes, Stomach bug, and Pneumonia. Yep - you heard right - Pneumonia. Nicholas started out with a cold and a rough cough. That cough ended up in his lungs which caused him to wheeze. His breathing increased rapidly and was taking quick, short breaths, so I called the nurse and she recommended that I take him to ER. After several tries of getting an IV in him, this is what his arm looked like. :( They had to bandage him up so he wouldn't pull it out.) Poor guy.

ON THE UP SIDE OF THINGS - KennaDee lost her bottom two teeth!! It happened soo fast! One day they were wiggly and loose and the next day they had fallen out. (On separate days of course) Ya know what the worst part of this was though? I WAS NOT HOME TO WITNESS EITHER ONE. What?!! The first night, I was over at a friends house (she was dying my hair black). The next tooth fell out about a week later and I was at Mutual (that is what we call our weekly youth activity at church). BUMMER!! At least I was able to receive pics of it. Isn't she adorable?!
So the tooth fairy came the first night right? But...the second time - - she FORGOT to come!! I told KennaDee that the Tooth Fairy was not expecting her to loose her second tooth so fast and with all the kids loosing teeth, she did not have time to get back to our house before she woke up. I also told her to leave a note for the tooth fairy to come back. - - She did and this is what she wrote: Dear Tooth Fairy, please put a dollar under my pillow and take my tooth. Love, KennaDee. The first tooth, she didn't want the tooth fairy to take it so on her second one, she wanted to make sure the Tooth Fairy knew to take it.
Needless to say, she did leave a dollar and then KennaDee felt it was very important that she write a Thank You note for leaving the dollar, so she did. :)

Hair Blog
So many of you have wondered where I get all my cute hair ideas for KennaDee - - well I can't take all the credit - - I get all my ideas from http://cutegirlshairstyles.com. There are several hair blogs out there but this one has seriously been the best. The reason I like it so much is because she has 4 daughters with different lengths of hair so no matter what the length KennaDee has, I can always find something that will work. My favorite lately has been what she calls the "waterfall french braid." You should check it out if you want some new, fresh ideas.
