Tag You're It

So, I was tagged by this awhile ago, but I haven't had the chance to get online and post anything. Sorry everyone that it's taken forever for me to post something.

1. 10 years ago- I was a junior in high school and my main focus was schoolwork, boys, and dancing. I was not a member of the church at that time and I THOUGHT life was great.

2. 5 things on my to do list- Prepare for my debut next week, call the young women to remind them of our activity this week, make treats for our neighbors, arrange a place for playgroup this week, and schedule an appointment for family pictures.

3. Snacks that I enjoy- I am on a kick right now with trail mix (my own version), I love angel food cake, and any kind of citrus fruit. Oh, and anything with chocolate on it or in it.

4. What would I do if I suddenly became I billionaire- oh the things I would do. I would pay off our debt (car and school loan), buy a house in Texas, pay off my parents debts, donate, travel with the family to Brazil, Spain, and Europe, and then invest the rest.

5. 5 places I have lived- Austin Texas; San Bernardino, CA; Provo, UT; Gaithersburg, MD; Woodbridge, VA

6. 5 jobs I have had- A mother and wife, teacher in a daycare center, a hostess, a sales representative, a receptionist for a lawyers office.
7. 3 of my bad habits- spending money when we don't really need to, driving too fast in our community, I had to ask my husband on this last one and he said, leaving water cups all over the house.

8. 5 random things people don't know about me- I just became a MaryKay consulant, I do not like the cold weather and I LOVE the sun beating on my face, I cut my husbands hair, I'm working for my mother, I used to mix all my food together at mealtimes, no matter what it was, I would mix it all together.

Relay For Life

Hello Everyone,

Brian and I have decided to participate in a relay in honor of all those children who have fought the battle the battle of cancer and those that are still fighting it. We have a very close friend whose daughter lost the cancer battle last year. Her name was Katrina. She was known as Katie. Katie was diagnosed with cancer at 20 months of age. She fought that vicious battle for 3 years and it finally took over her when she was 3 1/2. Unfortunately, we never met her personally, but her love and memories still linger here. While Katie was in the hospital, she became very close friends with a girl named Samantha. They were diagnosed with the same type of cancer, they received the same treatments, saw the same doctors and stayed in the same room. They became very close friends. After hearing the experiences that both of these families have gone through, we have decided to relay in their behalf. Cancer is such a horrible thing and we do not wish it upon anyone. We ask for your help in fighting against cancer. Please make a donation to me or join our team. You have the power to fight back against a disease that affects millions. It took you 2 minutes to read this blog, in that time 3 more people were diagnosed with cancer. I believe that the life of each individual is priceless. Today we show we care by remembering. Today we fight back by donating. Today we celebrate each life affected by cancer. Today we make a difference. You can go directly to my website to make a donation or join my team at http://main.acsevents.org/goto/srust. Every little bit counts.
Thanks so much for your thoughts and contributions.

Our Pride

So...the past few weeks, in our spare time, we have been painting our guest bathroom on the main floor. I am so proud of what we have done. Sometimes I just want to sit in there and stare because I love it soo much. Others might think I'm crazy but....Brian wanted an Americana theme and I wanted a Texas theme. I put Our Pride as the title because Brian is proud to be an American and I am proud to be a Texan. So.. to show our pride from both we painted our bathroom red, white and blue. Then the hand towels represent Texas, along with the rug on the floor that is shaped like a star. (You can't see it in the pictures though.) That's as close as I could get it to look somewhat like Texas without adding burnt orange in there and we all know that wouldn't fly so well. Anyhow, here are some before and after pictures for ya. Feel free to take our idea, I took it from my dear friend, Sara. The only difference is that her colors were pink and brown. Thanks Sara, for the great idea! We love it!
