Our Eventful Day

So on the 30th of July, I woke up and did my usual routine: brush teeth, get dressed, bathroom, etc. Well - after going to the bathroom I felt a strong impression to go into the hospital (no contractions yet at this point). So - I get the kids up, go downstairs and wake my mom up (thank goodness she was here!), and tell her "I think it's time." I've never seen someone jump out of bed faster - it was almost like she saw a huge spider next to her pillow. HAHA. Anyhow - I told her to take her time cause the kids are eating breakfast and I'm not having contractions.

Anyhow - the kids ate, we got ready and we took the kiddos to a friends house. As we were driving to the hospital the contractions started coming. Not too intense but they became regular real quick and started to become a little uncomfortable.
Upon arriving at the hospital I felt the contractions were dying off. As I approached the labor and delivery counter to check in for labor - they didn't believe me. The thought they were going to send me home because I didn't seem like I was in labor. Or didn't act like it, I guess. They roll me into the exam room, check my cervix and believe it or not, I was dialated to a 7 and was 80% ephased. They looked at me like I was crazy, and I said what? they thought it was amazing that I was dialated to a 7, having contractions, and not even seem affected by it.

They put me in a room to prepare for delivery. That was at 9:45am. I layed there for a while, contractions came and went. Some were strong, but most were mild. About 11:30, the doctor came in and asked how far apart my contractions were. I didn't know exactly but I guessed 10 minutes. He looked on the monitor to double check and he said you are having them about every 2-3 minutes. "What?" I seriously did NOT feel them that often. Right after he mentioned that, I realized "man, I'm havning a lot of back pain - can the contractions be in my back?" Absolutely they said. Let me tell ya - contractions in the back are much easier to deal with than those in your pelvic area.
About 12:00, I asked for medication - it finally reached a point to where it was REALLY painful. By the time the nurse came in to verify I wanted meds - I said, "Nevermind - it's time to push."
The doctor came in and 21 minutes and 3 big pushes later............

Boy or Girl?

That's the question I've been getting a lot lately. Here's the answer: We're not finding out until the baby is here.

So now, the question is what do I want? A Girl. I want to dress her up in little bows and dresses. Paint her fingernails, put cute jewelry on her and just cuddle cuddle cuddle. When she grows up, I want to take her out on a girls night, laugh and giggle over silly things. I love little girls, although - - the drama, the menstural cramps, the mood swings, the heartbreaks, the sensitivity...... maybe I just want one girl. I would LOVE to have KennaDee has my only girl - - to spoil, to take out, to be best friends with.

I want a boy. Not as much drama. Easy to please. Less expensive. Still cuddly - I can make him look sooo handsome. Jackson would have a friend to play with - maybe the second boy would help Jackson man up a little and take away some of the drama he's picked up from KennaDee. Yeah - I want a boy.

Or do I?

My First Quilt

So - I haven't really sewed anything in my life before. Although last Christmas I did learn how to sew a Christmas topper. The difference between this year and last year is that last year - I had a friend by my side every time I was at the sewing maching to guide me along the way. This year - I was given instruction and then came home and sewed. There were mistakes, definitely but.....SUCCESS!!

I finished a quilt for KennaDee. She picked out all the fabric (without knowing the blanket was for her.)

I guess you can say - I can somewhat sew now. Good thing - since Santa got me a sewing machine for Christmas.

Next projects:

1. Some kind of bag that has a face - not sure of the name yet, but his purpose will be to eat the toys that do not get picked up after playtime. I'm really getting tired of picking up all the toys all day long. So we'll have a hungry mansack that eats them if they are left out. To earn them back -good behavior, obedience, and/or chores.

2. Bedroom door name blankets (so to speak). I would like to make something that hangs on the front of their door with their names on it.

3. Canopy for KennaDee's bed

4. Quilt for Jackson

Hmmm...wonder how long that will take me to get done?
