Sunbeam

The start of a new year and KennaDee turned 3 this last year, so that means she moves up from nursery to Primary at church. For the past two weeks, her teachers had taken her to the sunbeam class for a little bit to help them adjust to the change. They all told me that KennaDee just threw fit when she had to go back to nursery. She absolutely LOVED it! Today, her primary teacher said that she was just great and that she acted like a pro.

I'm so glad she adjusted so well! This is the smile she wore all morning long before church. No joke. She was sooo excited! She kept saying, "mom, my sister moore is my teacher and she gives me popcorn!"After church today, she randomly ran up to me and said, "mom, God gave us families! God gave us food!"

Then later, I overheard her teaching and writing on paper while saying, "Kay, God gave us families, God gave us food."

It was sooo adorable. My baby girl is growing up. I can't believe that I have a daughter in primary. Am I really old enough?

While You Were Out

For the past three years Brian has gone to Chicago for work the week before Christmas. This year, I decided to paint our bedroom for him while he was gone. He hated the color of our room before. I don't blame him, it was horrific. The color was a very light pale green color. It almost looked white with a tint of lime green or something. Anhow. First of all, I have to thank my friends that helped out because I wouldn't have been able to finish it without their help. Megan, Aaron, Cyndi and Ben - y'all are awesome!
So here's how it went. He came home and I ran upstairs to get the video camera rolling so I could catch his reaction when he walked in. We had wrapped the door in wrapping paper so when he walked up the stairs, he suspected something was up but he had no I idea we had transformed the room. I wish I had remembered to take a before picture but I forgot.

Here's what the room looks like now. (Ignore the spots on the picture and video. Our camera sucks!)

There were really nasty curtains on here but I took them off and threw them out. My plan is to make some nice white ones that will accent the room a bit.

This is the accent wall. The saying reads: ALWAYS with the overlay reading Kiss Me Goodnight.

This is the wall opposite of our bed. The doors lead to the bathroom and our closet.

And this is the side wall.

This is Brian's reaction when he walked in the door.

Jackson's First Birthday

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!

So, I'm a little late in posting this but Jackson's first birthday was on the 23rd of November. We didn't do much for him this year, just a little party with the fam. I'm sure he probably won't even remember that.

He was really cute with the cake - I don't think he knew really what to do with it. But he finally got his hands into it and starting eating.

That little hand you keep seeing in the pictures is KennaDee - stealing the goods.

Thanks to all y'all who called and sent him gifts. And - thanks to all those who knew it was his birthday but just didn't get a chance to call. Thanks for thinking of him.

What do they want me to do with this?

Do they seriously want to dive in?

Ahhhh....Sweeeet!

Now this..I can do!

I wonder what this would like all over her face?

And yes, that cake was my attempt to make a gluten-free, dairy-free train.

It tasted pretty good but it kinda turned out looking like a truck or a bus or some kind of transportation instead of a train.
Whatever works.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACKSON!
